Magnificent specimens of Amber with inclusions are also being discovered in the Dominican Republic. These usually are much younger and their color is yellowish.

The Germans called the fossil Bernstein because when heated it will eventually burn. The original name however believed to come from an Arabic word.

Amber was called by the Greeks Electron due to its ability to generate electricity when being rubbed.
